The name "Mikasa" was actually from a Japanese battleship named "三笠". Because there was a legend where if you named your character after a battleship, it would become popular just like "Ayanami Rei" from Neon Genesis Evangelion and "Nagato Yuuki" from
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, and i got influenced by that.
She has that personality when there are times she showed her harsh/blunt side but there's times where she also showed how admirable she is, and that i was influenced too by Bersek's "Casca". Well i didn't+

purposedly drew her similar to Casca actually. An then "Ah, Mikasa was similar to Casca," i just came to realized it after a while.
If you're talking about Heroine, the term 「男を立てる女性像」{Which means, a female figure who only can increase the self-esteem of the male and following them around so it would not hurt the male's position (as a man), his pride, and his strengths} is the general meaning of it+
And i don't really like that way of thinking. Mikasa is the character that i've made as "The Character who overturned that way of thinking". That's why i made her to be the kind of girl who excels in combat skills. Well, in reality, there's a difference between the build+
and muscles between a male and female, but i don't think it would be interesting if it's based on reality.
For Eren, Mikasa is close to a mother figure for him, rather than a lover. A mother's love is very precious but at the same time is kind of annoying sometimes, right? (lol). Well eventually, just like a mother, there are times where Eren and Mikasa will be seperated+
And that is the times where Eren will have his development, probably i will draw that kind of scene someday in the future.

Y'know it's really weird that people outside of Japan often only highlighted and spread out "MIKASA IS A MOTHER FIGURE"
