Evidence of military and administrative training given to females belonging to the aristocratic families. Not only them, even ordinary Kshtriya females were were given military training and they were well equipped to fight and defend themselves in times of an emergency.
There is ample of evidence that Maratha ladies were not just able stateswomen but were decent warriors too as seen in the case of Jijabai, Tarabai (Chatrapati Rajaram's wife who continued the Maratha struggle against Aurangzeb after the untimely death of her husband) +
... Ahilyabai Holkar who not only governed her territory justly but was also responsible for building various temples during her reign.
There are stories and inscriptions of local women having defended their villages (SS 3)
Rajtarangini talks of many Queens from Kashmir who not just ruled their lands but also fought on the battlefields in case of emergencies. Queens like Sugandha and Dida have ruled as regentd. (SS 2)
India has a rich history of having seen women taking up weapons in emergencies.
This would not have been possible had they not recieved ample training in their formative years.
