1659: Afzal Khan, Bijapur Adilshahi commander, damaged temples of Pandharpur & Tuljapur.
Nov 10- Shivaji k!lled Afzal Khan on Pratapgad after sensing treachery, while Bijapuri army was also routed.
Dec 28- Marathas defeated Adilshahi troops under Rustam Jaman near Kolhapur.

Adilshahi troops chase him, but are kept in check by Maratha detachment under Baji Prabhu Deshpande.
Baji fought & sacrificed his life at Battle of Ghodkhind (later called Pawankhind honouring Baji’s valour).

1663: Shaista Khan was camped in Lal Mahal for 3 years. Shivaji Maharaj attacked the Mahal in the night.
In the ensuing chaos, Maharaj cut three fingers of Shaista Khan who was trying to flee the Mahal. Mughal army withdraws from Pune.
