Were the ahadith written a few hundred years after the Prophet's (ﷺ) death? 🧵:
There are many reports of the companions of the Prophet who were memorizing, writing the ahadith during his (ﷺ) lifetime. Contrary to what these ignorant people say.
Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) for one was an afront rank student of the Prophet (ﷺ).
He confirms that none other than Abdullah ibn Amr, رضي الله عنه, had more reports from the prophet.
His reason, "He (Abdullah ibn Amr) wrote down (the ahadith) while I did not."
He also said, "Indeed, I would memorize (and not write) while he (Abdullah ibn Amr) would memorize and write them down with his hands."
Further, it is proved by the ahadith that the companions did not embark to write them down on their own but they had to receive proper permission from the Prophet ﷺ which they then did. [Pink]
"He (Abdullah ibn Amr) sought the Prophets ﷺ and he gave him
the permission."
The Prophet (ﷺ) says to preserve knowledge, it should be written down!
"The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, 'Preserve knowledge.' I asked him how that may be done and he said that it should be written down."
Abdullah ibn Amr (رضي الله عنه) has narrated his case regarding the writing down (of the ahadith)
He said, "Whatever I heard from the Prophet (ﷺ) I wrote down to remember it when the Quraysh learned of my action, they forbade me to do it, saying 'you write down whatever...
..you hear the Prophet (ﷺ) say although he is a human being who
experiences anger and happiness.' So, I ceased to write and mentioned that to the Prophet (ﷺ) he said, 'Write down!' and, pointing out to his mouth with his finger, said,
''By Allah, under no condition can this utter false and wrong words."
Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who was a companion of the prophet (ﷺ) had books of ahadith!
"The topic of hadith came up with Abu Hurayrah and he took me by my hand to his home.
He showed me many books of hadith and said that he had them with him duly written."
Basheer ibn Nuhayk had said about Abu Hurayrah's books: "I would borrow books of ahadith from Abu Hurayrah and copy them out. Then, I would read them out to him and ask him if he had heard all that I recited from the Messenger of Allah and he would say, Yes."
Ibn Abbas, رضي الله عنه, also had books of hadith. He was he the prophet's cousin!
"Some people of Ta'if brought to Ibn Abbas his books (in which the ahadith were written down and asked him to read the ahadith to them).
Ibn Abbas began to read but (his eyesight had become too weak) he could not read them. So, he asked them to read the books to him, for their recital and his own were of the same status (on the question of transmission)."
Jabir bin Abdullah was also a prominent companion of the Prophet (ﷺ) had also had hadiths written!
Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Aqeel has narrated: "We would go to Jabir ibn Abdullah and would write down the prophet's ahadith after asking him."
There are more reports but these (mentioned) are sufficient to expose these lies used to claim that hadiths were written after a few hundred years of his (ﷺ) death.
As we can see ahadith were being written during the life of the Prophet (ﷺ) and after his passing.
*and had hadiths written.
They were also being compiled. Especially the Tabi'een and so forth who were more meticulous in recording them.
*He was the Prophets cousin!
