“Read this book” is a shitty advice
And I used to give it to people by default too
Reading books will surely help you wrap your head around this, but in itself, it will get you nowhere close to your end goal, and that’s because…

Guess what?

You need to WRITE
- It’s something 90% of newbies put off
They get into all those books, blogs and fancy formulas...
Just to end up in the prolonged consumption mode
(I know because I was guilty of this too)

But really, without putting pen to paper & fingers to keyboard
And actually PRODUCING
It’s all for naught
Just a mental copywriting masturbation

Why am I making such a big deal out of this?
Because you’re digging a hole for yourself if you “just read” at the beginning of your copywriting journey:
You invest all this time & money into books & courses
(sometimes months & thousands)

- Then you start thinking “it’s not for me”
- Then you go back to filling up excel sheets in a cubicle
No bueno.

Instead, rather than building up unrealistic expectations, you should start writing as soon as you start reading
That’s what I wish I did when I was starting out
But what do you write if you don’t know *how* to write?

Once you know a thing or two:
- Start a Twitter account (or even a blog nobody reads)
- Start freelancing (even if for $5/hour)
- Start an email list
And WOAH, there you go:
that's exactly...
How you *PRODUCE* your way into becoming a pro copywriterro

SPEAKING OF email lists, I have huge respect for guys who send out their emails daily or at least a few times a week
These guys know what’s up
And whether it’s making them a lot of money or a not-so lot of money, it sure as hell is making them a whole-lot better at writing copy
