When the market is red, it’s a good idea to think about why you’re doing this.
Regardless of how bad it gets, perseverance is the one thing that will enable you to succeed.
I know that from my own experience. Here’s how I got to where I am right now.
Thread
2. I got into crypto in early 2016. I was in my early 20s and working a minimum wage job, but I put 10-20% of every paycheck into #bitcoin
I didn’t really know what I was doing, but then the 2017 bull run came and I made some money.
3. This is the room where I started trading.
Studying and working at the same time was hard, but I managed to find time and it started to go really well.
4. Then, in early 2018, since my risk management skills were zero, I lost ~95% of my account.
That wasn’t money I had lying around and could afford to lose.
That was money that I was going to use to buy my first (very cheap) car.
5. I was close to giving up, trust me.
I didn’t trade for a couple of months since I had to work overtime just to cover rent.
But then I decided that I want to keep going. No matter what, I wasn’t going to be shaken out like that.
6. I started learning, not just blindly throwing money into the market.
Every day I read about TA, browsed CT, looked at charts and backtested setups.
Slowly but surely, I was starting to understand how to trade.
7. I realized that, if I had the right knowledge, I could be profitable in any market conditions.
I made back what I lost and after a year of studying TA every single day, I quit my job.
8. Going full-time turned out to be the best trading decision in my life.
Fast forward to now, I bought my mom a luxury apartment and my dad a car that he could only dream of when he was growing up (BMW).
9. They deserved it, and in the end, seeing them happy made every single minute of looking at charts and backtesting more than worth it.
Last but not least, I have to thank the people on CT that helped me the most in the last years.
These people are
@TeddyCleps
@EmperorBTC
@coinmamba
@crypto_blkbeard
@devchart
@thecryptomonk
@LSDinmycoffee
Without them I probably wouldnt be where I am now. If I can be even one bit as inspiring to just one new trader, that would make me more proud than anything else
