If you've ever said the words:
"I'm tired"
& want to solve this problem
This thread is for you
Fatigue plagues the Western world, particularly the US
More than 1/3 people experience some form of fatigue on a daily basis
This makes it hard for you to concentrate and be a productive member of society
& in some cases, be an alert parent to kids that need you at your best
So what is fatigue exactly?
It's a term used to describe physical or mental tiredness
There are 3 main types:
Transient (short term)
Cumulative (long term accumulation)
Both of these happen when you're not getting proper sleep at night
We call this "sleep debt"
Fatigue can also happen due to physical exertion like heavy workouts at the gym or long bouts of physical activity
Prioritizing rest is vital to helping you recover
Being aware of your fatigue is important in keeping you healthy and others safe
The dangers when you're tired are numerous
You end up having:
Slower reaction times
Short attention span
Poor memory recall
Bad Mood
Get behind the wheel of a car, for example, and it's a potential recipe for disaster
To understand the biology of fatigue, we need to look deep into your cells to a special part known as your mitochondria
Mitochondria are the energy powerhouses of your cells
Your brain, liver, heart, immune system and every single cell in your body have tons of these
Not eating quality food or getting the rest you need at night to keep your mitochondria healthy is bad news for your energy levels
The signal you're getting that your body is exhausted comes directly from these depleted energy factories
Here are a few nutrients you can use to help keep your mitochondria at their best
Acetyl Carnitine
Alpha Lipoic Acid
NAC
Selenium
CoQ 10
Malic Acid
Best food sources for these come from meat and organ meats
Resveratrol, Sulphoraphane & Green tea extract can also help
Another common cause of your fatigue is dehydration
Your brain is around 70% water
How do you expect it to work properly if you aren't giving it the fluid it needs?
Water also helps your body metabolize proteins, fats and carbs
Drink more water if you always feel tired
If you want to hydrate yourself properly, make sure you mineralize your water with
Magnesium
Chloride
Sodium
Potassium
Just to name a few
Fatigue also has a psychological component to it
Worrying about the future or stressing about finances takes a toll on your energy levels
Working with a professional to learn how to manage your stress is vital for helping you be at your best every day
If you really want to solve your fatigue, getting quality sleep should be your priority
Magnesium glycinate or chloride before bed is the easiestway to improve your sleep
This one habit has skyrocketed my energy and those of the people that I work with
You can do the same
