The exaggerated sanctity bestowed on al-Albani is truly amazing. Does the man have good works? Sure. Is he the mujaddid of our time? Absolutely not. The man injected extreme irja into Salafiyyah and is not even reliable in his specific field of expertise (hadith).
That is, any hadith found outside of the Sahihayn where you see al-Albani graded it authentic, needs to be verified. Because it seems more times than not, it turns out to be weak.
This is simply stating facts and nasihah. Others who may know or knew this, failed to clarify the truth and instead followed the crowd in praising the man and raising him beyond his stature. The result of that is when the truth is stated, it is deemed fringe or whatever.
The shaykh does of course have good qualities. One lies in what he was not: a government scholar. For indeed, at least one can say he stayed away from the taghut governments - even if his 'aqidah of irja and pacifist manhaj greatly benefited and continues to benefit the tawaghit.
