⚠️ Caution graphic content!!
2️⃣ Imagine having everything taking away from you, your work, your livelihood and your loved ones, this is not something Syrians need to Imagine and dred, this is the reality of the Syrian people for the last 10 years, 12 million Syrians fled their homeland, scarred by the war
3️⃣ Families broken a part, if lucky, some lost all their loved ones and are left alone in the world with nothing but the painful memories of losing those close to their hearts, I can't believe what I am about to say, but these what you may call the lucky ones 💔
4️⃣ December 2011 Jabal al-Zawiya massacres:On 19 December, the FSA suffered its largest loss of life when new defectors tried to abandon their positions and bases between the villages of Kansafra and Kafr Oweid in Idlib province. Opposition activist groups,
5️⃣ specifically the Syrian Observatory for Human rights, reported that 72 defectors were killed as they were gunned down during their attempted escape. The Syrian Army lost three soldiers during the clashes.
6️⃣The next day, SOHR stated that in all 100 defectors were killed or wounded. Also, the same day, the SOHR updated its number of civilians killed by government security forces in the province for the previous day from 37 to 111.
7️⃣ Eye witnesses said "Civilians were surrounded by security forces who killed 100 of us. The corpses of those killed were left in the streets and the mosques and we are not allowed to bury any of them."
8️⃣ "Some of those killed cannot be recognised. Some were burnt and some beheaded with their hands tied behind their backs . We are really scared because the area might be stormed once again."
9️⃣ The clashes continued into the next day, and another report, by Lebanese human rights activist Wissam Tarif, put the death toll even higher with 163 defectors, 97 government troops and nine civilians killed on the second day alone
🔟 the military tracked down the soldiers and civilians that managed to initially escape. On 21 December, it was reported that the FSA had taken control over large swathes of Idlib province including some towns and villages.
1️⃣1️⃣ Ram al-Anz and Ghajariyeh massacre : Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that 68 bodies were found between the villages of Ram al-Enz and Ghajariyeh. Syrian activists blamed pro-government militia, not much details were disclosed about this horrible crime
1️⃣2️⃣ Like the Ram al-Anz massacre the Karm al-Zeitoun massacre is shrouded in lack of information about the exact identity of those behind the killing of 47 civilians after ASF forces entered Karm al-Zeitoun.
1️⃣3️⃣ Taftanaz massacre5 April 2012.
The Battle of Taftanaz started on February 11, 2012 , between anti-government fighters and Syrian Arab Army troops participating in a nationwide crackdown on dissent against Bashar Assad's government.
1️⃣4️⃣ Heavy fighting took place on the outskirts of the town of Taftanaz, killing 20 people. On the day of the battle Kofi Annan announced a cease-fire for the Syrian conflict.
1️⃣5️⃣ By 5 April, the military captured Taftanaz's city center, which was defended by 200 armed rebels, after a two-hour battle, following which the army reportedly rounded up and executed 82 people. It was unknown how many were opposition fighters and how many were civilians.
1️⃣6️⃣ Two months after, it was called a "massacre" in the town of Taftnaz, two-thirds of the population had left. The town had been a centre for opposition protests until the army had raided it with tanks on 3rd of April.
1️⃣7️⃣ Witnesses in the town said that tanks shelled the town from four sides before armored cars brought in dozens of soldiers who dragged civilians from their homes and gunned them down in the streets,
1️⃣8️⃣ they also claimed that the soldiers looted, destroyed and torched hundreds of homes, bringing some down on their owners’ heads. Videos showed this, and 62 people were killed during the attack, despite the town only having a small insurgency presence.
1️⃣9️⃣ Nine Syrian Arab Army tanks were destroyed by homemade bombs as they left the town.
