MEGATREND #1: Rapid urbanisation, 60% of world’s population will live in cities by 2030. Riyadh for example will double its population to15 million in the next 9 years driving for job growth in sectors like:
- Large scale infrastructure: cities and companies will invest heavily to build NexGen infrastructure
- New services: as cities become more connected, non-traditional players will be needed.
- Smart Cities: use of digital innovation and technology will increase speed and efficiency of urban services and drive sustainability & liveability
-Smart Nation: digital economy, digital government & digital society, improved quality of life in various dimensions: safety, time and convenience, health, environmental quality, social connectedness and civic participation, jobs and the cost of living
- Restorative built environment: achieving sustainability in building and urban design to create sustainable built environment and reduce stress, improve cognitive function and creativity, improve well-being and expedite healing

MEGATREND #2: Teal Organisations: an evolution of organisations inspired by the next stage of human consciousness. With the rise of a young-working nation like the one we've got in KSA , people want more flexibility..
- Self management will replace hierarchical pyramids. Rigid hierarchical management structures will be replaced by distributed authority and collective intelligence, in which natural hierarchies emerge and dissipate depending on situational context. Think: TEAM-AS-SERVICE
- Living Entities: organisations will be seen as living entities, oriented towards realising its
potential, everyone will be called by an inner voice to contribute based on their unique potential
- Evolutionary Purpose: profit maximisation will no longer be the goal. Teal organisations will strive for a higher purpose. The Business Roundtable for example say: corporations don't just serve shareholders.
MEGATREND #3: Entrepreneurial Dynamism A @nielsen study shows that 54% of Gen Z indicated they
wanted to start their own company. This changes the way we do work in ways like:
- Entrepreneur Mindset: “think different”, entrepreneurs are empathic listeners, strategic thinkers and global
collaborators who can pivot quickly and effortlessly.
Create Your Own Job: instead of relying on an employer to hire people and give them a job, entrepreneurs will
simply make their own. Weaker connections between business ideas and job creation.
Small teams: the future will see small but highly skilled teams that will augment their capacity through scalable
automation. In the future, the biggest game changing products and services will come from small teams.
Speed as a Habit: the fastest company in any market will win. Speed will become the ultimate weapon in business.
Agile: agile approach for creating products that serve customers and drive business value through constant
feedback and rapid iterations. Enterprise Agile will reshape the way enterprises do business.
