This may be slightly controversial and rich coming from someone in my position but I do believe it's important to have this conversation with fellow traders especially in the the crypto scene where there has been tremendous growth and riches being made as of recently.

Talking about work/trading crypto with friends and even family is a very tricky situation to navigate. I was in conversation with a friend about their struggles on negotiating a 10k payrise for the year as they've put in extra work hours during covid.

That conversation is totally normal and modern day society indicates that hard work means more financial gain which is associated to your position within a company i.e. manager, senior manager, director etc.
4,
You should be able to talk about your work with friends and family and express your joys of how well you are doing which again, is generally associated with pay rises, moving up in management etc.

In trading, it's so black and white, your performance and how well you are doing as a trader comes down to a pure function of how much money you have you extracted from the market... Yet, you come across as vain and pretentious if you ever say the truth.

You can't, in modern day society be throwing around numbers that a lot of this community does because no one could ever relate. Whenever anyone asks me about work that isn't in the scene, I find myself immediately cutting the conversation off and deflecting back to them.

Now you're in a situation were you can't talk about these things because you come across as a douchebag, yet it is probably the activity that consumes >75% of our attention when we are awake.

You remotely say anything about how proud you are online, BAM, douchebag tag.
Is it envy? Is it jealousy? Is it a whole bunch of reasons? When I see someone posting huge winners it motivates me to push harder, but it seems like everyone gets all defensive and pissed about it.

Mr Anon, the whole reason why I'm having this rant, is if you feel this way, I want to say I'm infinitely proud of your hard work and understand it isn't easy. You've given up your world to get to where you are. Take a bow. Be proud.
