2. The crop will recover. I have scorched crops badly at the early growth stages up to V5 with low doses of UAN in trials and not measured a yield effect (still not a good idea to try it!)...
3. The lower leaves (up to V9 or 10) contribute far less to final yield anyway. I question the methodology of some of the studies, but the work has been done showing damage at the early stages is not something to worry about.
