Latest I hear is WHO EUL decision on Sinopharm/SInovac will be delayed a couple of days. We were expecting a red or green light yesterday, but this is being pushed to later in week.
Can only imagine the pressure on Geneva given the stakes involved for a lot of parties.

WHO/COVAX process is partly dependent on six national regulatory agencies, three (πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ‡¦πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¬πŸ‡§) of which are from the Five Eyes Alliance that the US govt says lobbies vs. πŸ‡·πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¨πŸ‡³vax.

Given the inability of India to export vax, approval could mean a large chunk of the US $4B donation to COVAX going for Chinese vax. which will not make everyone happy. If WHO approves, will be interesting to watch the US reaction. 3/4
On the other hand, if WHO does not approve, COVAX is really up the creek. It's just informed countries that it will not be able to deliver any of its promised Indian vax before May, and I can't see how that is going to get any better before Sept.
