The genetic, cultural & religious descendants of the indigenous people of Kashmir & Punjab are Kashmiri Pandits, Punjabi Khatris & Punjabi Brahmins etc
I didn't realize Islam was indigenous to the region. Don't recall blasting up Bamiyan Buddhas as an indigenous practice either.
Kashmiri Pandits & Punjabi Khatris have the same genetics as Iron Age Hindus of 1000 BCE living in Punjab and Kashmir. On the other hand, Muslim Lahori Punjabis do not have the same genetics (because they are not their descendants).
Religion and Culture is quite obvious - Hinduism or Sanatana Dharma is indigenuous to Punjab, Kashmir & rest of India. Islam is indigenuous to Arabia.
So on all fronts - genetic descent or religion - Pakistanis are not indigenuous people of Ancient India.
