I think part of the reason that calls to “stop conflating Zionism with Judaism” fall so flat to me is because it’s framed as *non-jews* doing the conflating when this conflation is blatantly one of our jewish communities’ biggest priorities
it literally makes me roll my eyes nowadays. like okay? you tell people who aren’t jewish to “listen” to jews and then when their listening obviously results in this conflation, we then police *them*? no, this call is coming from inside the house
when our most outspoken, powerful, and influential organizations and spokespeople are invested and passionate about this conflation, when us as diaspora jewry see our communities *insist* on this conflation and provide material support to Israel—why is anyone surprised?
do not misconstrue my tweets and pretend that I am not concerned about christian Zionism or other issues—I am tweeting in direct response to *my* immediate jewish communities being involved in this conflation. That is my context.
