@BenjaminSolder @JSawallaGusehMD @PPodrid In AFL there’s a reentrant circuit within the RA that’s usually going 240-320/min, bombarding the AV node. The “block” refers to AVN not conducting each wave (thank goodness). It’s variable when it’s not regular (eg 1:2 or 1:3)

@BenjaminSolder @JSawallaGusehMD @PPodrid I think you and others are noticing there’s not a clear relationship between the peaks of flutter waves and QRSs. Flutter often looks like that, but the atria are indeed causing those QRS in AFL.

@BenjaminSolder @JSawallaGusehMD @PPodrid I don’t think this is atrial tach + complete heart block because that would be quite unusual to begin with (there was no digoxin involved in this case), but more importantly an escape rhythm shouldn’t be this fast, nor irregular.

@BenjaminSolder @JSawallaGusehMD @PPodrid ...But it’s a pretty unusual ECG regardless, so I hope folks can confirm or correct my read. @ECGfan @ecgrhythms @smithECGBlog
