The fortress of Rai Buddhi Chand Ghorewaha at Chamkaur.
Here, Rai Buddhi Chand gave shelter to Guru #Gobind Singh against the dictate of Subehdar Wazir Khan.
Later, Wazir Khan executed Buddhi Chand for going against his orders.
(Ghorewaha is a Kachhawaha sub clan of Punjab).
Gurudwara Damdama Sahib built on the lands of Ghorewaha chieftain Rai Roop Chand who gave shelter to Sikh Guru at this place. Roop Chand was most probably son of Rai Buddhi Chand.
Later Guru Gobind moved to Macchiwara, which was also under the Ghorewahas.
This is where the elder #Sahibzadey died fighting alongside three of the panjpyare. The cremation of Panj pyares were done with the support of Ghorewahas.
After this the Guru went to another to Raikot and got refuge with Rai Kalha, descendant of Rai Tulsi Das Bhati.
In 1677, Guru Gobind wasn't allowed in Lahore due to apposition from Lahoris. Guru Gobind who had to go to Lahore to get married, decided to construct a mini Lahore in Bilaspur, now know as Guru ka Lahore, under the protection of Rajput king of Bilaspur Raja Bhim Chand Chandel.
Chaupai Sahib, one of the most important daily prayer of Sikhs & core part of Dasham Granth was written by Guru Gobind at Nangal, under the patronage & protection of Raja Ratan Chand Katoch.
After all of this, how many times Rajputs are credited for safeguarding Gurus & Sikhism?
