Last year, our Projects Coordinator Dhekra, worked with her team to engage governmental authorities to provide entrepreneurs with more transparency. While govs could be a major obstacle, if engaged they could be the biggest lever for an #entrepreneurship #ecosystem.
She developed a process-map to help Yemeni entrepreneurs figure out how to legally register their companies. Entrepreneurs usually wasted time and energy in the process.
A commercial record would enable them to open a bank account, get into procurement contracts, and protect their intellectual property and commercial identity. Unfortunately, many won’t even consider registering their business to avoid all the headache.
Dhekra and her team also developed a guide for entrepreneurs to know their Tax rights and obligations to help protect entrepreneurs from extortions or liabilities.
The project, in partnership with @giz_gmbh, emphasized @RowadOrg approach of building relations with governmental and local authorities, developing means to improve communication, and understanding what is needed to collaborate to support #yemeni entrepreneurs
