It encompasses the initial ten members of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which formed the original G10, adding Australia and Spain. In 1984, when Switzerland joined the G10 and G12, the names of the groups were not changed. 2/2

5. G-15
Type : Group of 15 is an informal forum set up to foster cooperation and provide input for other international groups, such as the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the Group of Seven.
Est : At Ninth Non-Aligned Movement Summit Meeting in Belgrade, 1989. 1/2
Focus: The G-15 focuses on cooperation among developing countries in the areas of investment, trade, and technology.
Note : Membership has since expanded to 18 countries, but the name has remained unchanged.

Type : intergovernmental forum comprising 19 countries and the European Union (EU).
Focus : It works to address major issues related to the global economy, such as international financial stability, climate change mitigation, and sustainable development. 1/n
Fact: A. G20 is composed of most of the world's largest economies, including both industrialized and developing nations.
B. The group collectively accounts for around 90%of gross world product (GWP),75-80 percent of international trade, two-thirds of the world's population. 2/n
C. The G20 was founded in 1999 in response to several world economic crises.
D. Since 2008, the group convenes at least once a year, with summits involving each member's head of government or state. 3/3

Established : in 1971 as a chapter of the "Group of 77"
Focus : In order to help coordinate the positions of developing countries on international monetary and development finance issues, as well as and to ensure that 1/4
their interests are adequately represented in negotiations on international monetary matters.
Status : Though originally named after the number of founding Member States, it now has 28 Members (plus China, which acts as a Special Invitee). 2/4
Outreach : Although the G-24 officially has 28 member countries, any member of the G-77 can join discussions.
