Images of what life is like in Amerika under the Capitalist dictatorship that has ruled over the past 200 years.
For all the non-Amerikans that claimed the US to be a “nice” and “happy” place, just because you had your vacation in the tourist areas does not mean that the rest of the country is like that. For all Amerikans this is THEIR version of the US, this is THEIR reality of the US.
Infrastructure is decaying and has been for a while the Amerikan gov are not prepared for the climate crisis and what is yet to come and they still do nothing. This isn't a happy place, Amerika has been a hell for ppl for HUNDREDS of years.
Amerikans are forced to live in these conditions while the capitalist government gets to eat a full meal and sleep in a clean well-built house with air conditioning.
Amerikans also live under a brutal police state the NYPD alone having a police budget that would rank it among the highest military spenders in the world.
The US still doesn't even have universal healthcare. People are saddled with debt which they will never pay back or don't have the financial capacity to pay for the costs of healthcare consequently leading to people doing things like this:
The US has the world's largest prison pop. Despite accounting for only 4.4% of the world's pop it makes up for 25% OF THE WORLD'S PRISON POP. prison labor continues as part of the 13th amendment of the U.S. Constitution which prohibits slavery "except as a punishment for crime."
Amerikans are also so alienated by the non-choice they are provided that voter turnout has hovered around 50% for over 100 yrs. However, this is unsurprising once you account for the fact that the rich essentially pick who you get to vote for meaning who wins they also win.
Amerika is also not a democracy. What kind of democracy will be this fond of campaign donations and lobbying? also, notice how all branches of gov are filled with incredibly rich ppl and how every person who runs for president happens to be a multimillionaire.
Income inequality is also rampant in the US to the point where the gap between rich and poor is in fact *LARGER* than it was during France btwn 1760-90. Moreover, just 3 Amerikans. 3. Hold more wealth than the bottom 50%.
