This is the greatest number of bombs dropped by a US-Led coalition since the first GulfWar with the difference that only 45 % of the bombs dropped in the GulfWar will reach their target for almost 100 % with ISIS due to the fact that the bombs used against IS are laser guided.
More bombs were dropped on ISIS by the US and its allies from 2015 to 2017 (99 016) than during the 20 years of war in Afghanistan (70 424)

The number of artillery rounds fired by the US and its allies against ISIS is also impressive, there were 35 000 artillery rounds fired by the US marines against ISIS for the battle of Raqqa, more rounds fired for one city than for the US invasion of Iraq in 2003 (34 000).
The french soldiers alone fired 10 000 shells for the battle of Mosul, 3500 in Baghuz and a US marine battalion fired more rounds than any artillery battalion since the Vietnam war.
In order to topple ISIS the US-Led coalition also killed tens of thousands of civilians,while helping shiites militias killing thousands of civillians in Iraq and Syria, even helping the Assad regime against ISIS, the Assad regime wich killed hundreds of thousands of civilians.
