Taehyung rushes outside, pushing several people out of his way until he faces two big doors leading to the red carpet.
He grabbes the door handle with both of his hands, grip tight as he swings it open.

His heart is beating at an alarming rate as he is met with the sight of hundreds of people right in front of him. His eyes scan the crowd, looking for that one person.

The screams and camera flashes only intensify as he gets closer and taehyung tries to block it all out, too focused on finding him.
For a second he worries his manager had mistaken someone for jungkook, that they would never be able to reunite and Taehyung had to give up.

But then he sees him, and Taehyung swears it feels like falling in love all over again.
Jungkook stands out, a little taller and a whole lot more handsome than the people around him.

Taehyung held his breath as he looked at Jungkook and that’s when Jungkook looks his way and it makes Taehyung want to break down right then and there.

Jungkook is looking at him, staring at him with his mouth slightly open and Taehyung can’t help but smile at his surprised face. He can’t keep his eyes off of him no matter how hard he tries.

He can hear people yelling at him to move, to pose for the camera and keep walking but nothing of that matters to him.
He watches Jungkook’s eyes fill with tears and Taehyung wishes he could run up to him and give him the biggest hug.

“dont cry, i’m here.” Taehyung mouths and Jungkook wipes his tears before a smile also appears on his face.
“Hi.” Jungkook waves at him shyly and Taehyung notices a small note in his left hand.

He starts to walk towards him, never breaking eye contact. He’s scared that if he looks away even for a second Jungkook would be gone again.
His cheeks are starting to hurt from smiling too much and Taehyung missed the feeling of pure joy.

Jungkook returns it beautifully, the exact same way he did when they were deeply in love.
He watches Jungkook’s smile up at him as he gets closer and closer until it disappears.
And Taehyung feels his heart break right then and there.

The smile on his face gets replaced with a frown, his whole body completely freezes and Taehyung wants to reach out. Wants to hold him and talk to him and have him all to himself again.

But instead of being able to touch Jungkook he feels a hand on his arm.
He turns to his left and sees his co-star next to him, holding his hand while flashing a sweet smile to the paparazzi.

He pulls his hand back, taking a step back from her as he looks at her in anger.
“Get away from me, now.” She looks at Taehyung in confusion before taking a step closer again.
“Taehyung, what are you doing. Didn’t they inform you?”

Her hand is on his arm again and Taehyung hates it, feels his skin burning under her touch.
“I’m sorry but, what?” He feels his head starting to spin and his vision starting to get blurry.

He’s confused and scared and when he tries to find Jungkook again to calm himself down he’s not there anymore.
Taehyung makes sure to check everywhere, stares at the crowd for a good 5 minutes until security comes up to him.

He knows he probably looks pale, a good ten seconds away from passing out but he doesn’t want it to end this way, it can’t.
“Let go of me! I need to find him!”
He runs towards the screaming fans and feels their hands reaching out to touch him.

People are pulling at his clothes and Taehyung almost loses his balance as he tip toes to check the back too.
But Jungkook left.

His knees are about to give out and his whole body is shaking in fear. He contemplates yelling for him, but his voice would never be heard over the loud noise.
He blinks back tears and looks down in embarrassment.

After all those years of waiting for Jungkook to come back to him Taehyung had him right in front of him.
All he had to do was take five more steps and he could have had Jungkook all to himself again. But he was too late, he always has been.

He hears his manager call for him and he’s ready to just run away and forget all of this when he spots the note Jungkook was holding right next to his foot.
He picks it up with shaking hands and unfolds it, seeing a handwritten message on it.

“Even after all this time my heart is still yours. If you’re not scared anymore i’ll be here waiting for you, and then maybe we can spend forever this time.”
Taehyung reads it over and over again, traces the words with his finger carefully before putting the note in his pocket.

He feels himself getting dragged away and he closes his eyes until he gets seated on the couch in his dressing room.
“Taehyung, are you okay?”
He nods his head to reassure his team, not wanting to worry even more people.
“Yeah, i’m fine, i’ll be fine.”
