This entire thread is an example of the complete nonsensical self-aggrandizing pseudo history that the Hindutva ecosystem uses for retweets, but can never get serious traction beyond social media 😂
The only source cited is a hagiography, “Partition-Days, the Fiery Saga of RSS”
The entire premise of this “RSS saved Darbar Sahib from Muslim mobs!” is based upon the claim that literally all Sikhs had deserted Amritsar in March of 1947 to attend Hola at Anandpur Sahib; this is an outright lie made by the aforementioned nonsensical “Fiery Saga of RSS”
The reality is that the situation in Punjab, including Amritsar, had been heating up amongst the Sikhs for several months as they formed organized militias in the form of Akal Fauj, Akali Jathas, and Shahidi Dals to participate in Partition violence.
By the beginning of March 1947 SGPC in Amritsar itself had formed an official Fauj Guard for the exact purpose of defending Gurdwaras from mobs, and kirpan and arms factories were built in Amritsar - Master Tara Singh even presided over a 2000-Akali conference in February 28
All of this Sikh ramp-up of aggression actually spilled over to riots in Amritsar - refugees of this, including Muslims, were even given refuge in Darbar Sahib at the exact time the RSS purported to be waging a war to “defend it”. What in the world were they doing?
The devil is in the details, as the “Fiery Saga of RSS” book lists a grand total of *75* RSS members who were assigned to the “protection” of Darbar Sahib - a paltry token force for empty parading, decades later exaggerated into some grand defensive maneuver 😂
For example - how in the world did the RSS chroniclers omit that the initial spat of violence was actually precipitated by a Sikh mob shouting anti-Pak slogans? Not a single recording of the March-1947 Amritsar riots outside that book even mention a prominent RSS role
There’s plenty more I could go on, as I looked into this a while back (and was amused at how badly wrong the RSS book got its history on these events). But goes to show how this attempt to show “bravery” is a masked inferiority complex insulting to the actual unfolding of events
