Kushmanda Devi Mandir is situated in Ghatampur between Sagar-Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh. Here miraculous Murti of Maa Kushmanda is in a lying posture. This unique murti is Virajman in the form of Pindi.
The surprising thing is that water keeps dripping from this Murti continuously. It is believed that drinking this water cures many diseases. Scientists have researched this Murti many times but they could not know why and how water is coming out of this Murti.
According to beliefs, a cow of a cowherd named Kudha used to drop its milk in the bush. This work was done by the cow every day. Seeing this, one day when Kudha excavated here, he saw the divine Murti.
Even after digging a lot, he could not find the end of this Murti, so he constructed a small mandir at this place. It is said that the present Mandir of Maa Kushmanda Devi was built by Chandidin Bhurji in 1890. This Mandir of Maa Kushmanda is built-in Maratha style.
