Many people think he was very secluar king, he never harm Hindus and neither destroy their temples, but In the reign of Shahjahan. He wanted to destroy as many Hindu temples as possible.

He banned the construction of new temples and ordered to be built a mosques on them. He was also forbidden to Repairs to old temples. Three temples were destroyed in Gujarat.

72 temples in Banaras and 4 temples in allahabad also destroyed. All these temples were ordered to be destroyed and mosques builtin their place. The materials of some of the Hindu temples were used for building mosques.

A magnificent temple built by Bir Singh Bundela at Urchha was destroyed. Several other temples suffered the same fate or were converted in to mosques.

When Aurangzeb was won Gujarat (February,1645 to January, 1647) was responsible for the demolition of several temples. In Ahmedabad and else where in Gujarat and Maharashtra many temples were also destroyed.

In the reign of Shahjahan, many churches also destroyed but who cares about them, they are also considered as infidel. Muslims said they believe Jesus is a Prophet but same time they didn't follow each other. So forget about them.
