What is the single biggest change happening in India?
I think by far is the gradual expanding of freedoms for Indian women and girls.
This is both a cause and effect of other massive changes: industrialisation, economic growth as well as social, religious and political changes.

Urbanisation, internet, education, formalisation and growth of economy, provision of sanitation and potable water along with roads and electricity, more access to health care, more focus on safety - all this liberate Indians across backgrounds, but they liberate women much more.
When even a slightly higher fraction of women start choosing partners, it starts an irreversible change in social and consequently political plus economic structures. It increases pressure on young men to earn beyond subsistence. It breaks down caste and increases Hindu identity.
Finally, back breaking (but non-paid) household work gets more and more automated or outsourced.
Hence more women start earning (or have an option to earn due to skills): division of labour, specialisation in skills and hence extent plus growth of markets dramatically increases.

Though in an unbalanced evolution of society's different sections, this can lead to demographic changes which are not always wholesome.
But that requires different solutions- not burdening women with social pressure to increase number of children for larger civilisational goals.

But over and above any consequentialist benefits, we must celebrate this change for the sake of it, despite all the inevitable tensions given pace of change, which is that Indian women and girls are freer.
Freedom should mean responsibility as well but it should mean so for all.
