RAREST OF THE RARE — Maratha Elite Tapestry 👑
These 4 Paintings from a tapestry shows Maratha Noblemen being entertained by dancers.
What is fabulous is this painting offers a glimpse at TRADITIONAL Non-Bhonsale Chattrapati Empire Era dressings of Mahratta Aristocrats.
The dressing appears to be from Adilshahi or pre-Adilshahi period.
The tapestry itself maybe from Bhonsale Chattrapati Empire period, but the dressing style offers a look at Marathas as they appeared before or at least during the Deccan-Sultanate era.
What makes these paintings absolutely gorgeous, is that not only are jewels fabulously detailed, but the dressing fabric is shown effectively transparent proving the advanced skills of the painter.
Here we can also see the talented Maratha playing a music instrument, in almost same posture as the ancient Samrat Samudragutta making this one of the rarest paintings ever depicting Marathas playing instrument.

A semi-erotic painting, one of the rarest in existence of who appears to be Maratha Lord of Mysuru in dalliance with two concubines.
This makes this an extremely rare specimen.
Mysuru Painting of a "Kshatriya", most likely referring to either a Maratha Nobleman or an Arasu.
