Hashtags are essential to every IG account. There's really no point in posting if you aren't using them!
But the problem is, most people don't know how to effectively use hashtags.
So, I'm putting together this thread to teach you my method of hashtag research.

In this first step, you need to identify your niche & break it up into 3 SUBCATEGORIES related to your IG posts.
In this case, I'll be using a FOOD NICHE

STEP 2: TRULY UTILIZING HASHTAGS
With hashtags, your main goal is to reach the TOP 9 POSTS
These 9 posts get the most exposure
It would be awesome to get your post pinned on such a large hashtag, wouldn't it?

But, keep in mind the number of posts on a hashtag is VERY IMPORTANT.
Think of it, if you have 5k followers & are trying to get noticed on this #dessert hashtag with over 50m posts, you're going to be DESTROYED by the larger accounts.

The only way to hit the top 9 is if you have a REALLY SEXY image or are simply lucky.

Yes, finding over 180 HASHTAGS will be time-consuming, but you'll be using these hashtags for months, even a year. SO THIS IS A GIANT WIN

Previously I used to use Seekmektrics as it showed you EVERY HASHTAG related to your keyword as well as the number of posts. But, now it just randomly generates only 30 hashtags related to your keyword :(

The site above is similar but it at least gives you more hashtags to use. Unfortunately, it's randomly generated & you have to manually search the hashtags on IG to show how many posts are using that hashtag.
Another way to find hashtags is through IG itself. Simply search your Niches Subcategory & find the related hashtags
STEP 4: APPLYING YOUR HASHTAGS
Now it's time to apply your hashtags. This should be fairly simple.

If you have a post about Desserts, then you'd use the dessert hashtags
If you have a post about Diets, then you'd use diet hashtags
Keep in mind if you overuse the same hashtags then you're less likely to reach the TOP 9 POSTS.

That's why you need to research at least 60 HASHTAGS per SUBCATEGORY.
