Acne: What Your Doctor Won’t Tell You
1. Acne is common, NOT normal. It is an external symptom of an internal imbalance.
Addressing the internal imbalance is what will cure acne.

2. Our skin is the largest eliminative organ we have. Toxins that aren’t properly eliminated from your other detox organs (like your gut) can end up getting pushed out through your skin, triggering acne and other skin conditions.

3. Skin health is directly connected to lymphatic health. Stagnant lymph = congested skin.
Our lymphatic system does not have a pump, which is why good posture, movement, stretching, sweating, and lymphatic drainage is so important.

4. Check your dental health. All too often I see root canals, untreated cavities, metal fillings, and poor oral care contributing/being the root cause of acne.

6. Food sensitivities. Dairy, eggs, nuts, seeds, soy, corn, gluten, vegetable + seed oils, processed foods, etc. are common foods that can trigger inflammation + disrupt the gut microbiome (and your oral health), which can trigger acne.

7. Our skin has its own microbiome. Most products on the market like makeup, creams, sunscreens, soaps, tap water, etc. contain harmful ingredients that disrupt the microbiome of our skin.
What you put on your face matters.

8. Hunter - gatherer societies have close to ZERO instances of acne in their population.
They eat food from nature, move their bodies, get adequate sun exposure, + are not exposing themselves to modern toxins. Acne is lifestyle related.

9. You need to be pooping, once a day minimum. You need to be hydrating with properly filtered water + eliminating through your kidneys. Your liver needs tonifying. The skin will pick up slack where these organs are lacking = acne.

10. Pharmaceuticals cause significant microbiome disruptions that can trigger acne.
Antibiotics are sometimes necessary, but often times they are grossly over prescribed + OTC drugs can be replaced with natural alternatives.
If you have acne, there are solutions. Please don’t lose hope or beat yourself up. Our bodies are beautiful vessels that are constantly communicating with us. Acne is just another sign of communication ♥️
