Why I think NFTs will force Hollywood, Harvard, Salesforce, Nintendo etc to reinvent themselves

How Stoner Cats works:
You buy an NFT for access to VIEW the show and for INPUT into the show
You help decide what happens with the plot and characters
You join community calls with the team
It turns a dictatorship to a democracy

It turns a dictatorship to a democracy
You also get actual upside if the show takes off
How you get upside is either
1) The NFT goes up in value (more demand for the experience pushes prices up)
2) You join their DAO which might give you profit sharing in future shows the team spins out
Pretty cool stuff, right?

Why this is a game changer:
The audience is no longer passive
The audience becomes an active community
Prediction: Hollywood shifts from being "top down" to "bottoms up "
Communities will be more powerful than many studios

2- NFTs will shake SaaS up
Imagine seeing Notion on their MVP launch date
It’s the product of your dreams. You’re so stoked
They offer an NFT for lifetime membership for .4 ETH
You believe in them. So you do it

Fast forward 5 years
Notion is one of the biggest SaaS companies around
They charge thousands of $ a year for access
But because you were there first
Because you were a day one supporter...
You have a lifetime membership that you can sell for 5-50x what you paid
Makes sense

3- NFTs will shake education up
I had the craziest experience last week...
I wanted to teach people about how to design successful NFT projects, DAOs etc
Experiment: do a week course and community
Buuuut, in order to access it you needed to buy a Crypto College NFT

And it took off
We sold 70eth+ and the best part?
The Discord for Crypto College has been buzzing
We’ve been having amazing conversations
People are meeting, people are collaborating
Why?
There is shared ownership
Students WANT to see Crypto College succeed

Why?

Students WANT to see Crypto College succeed
People act different when they are invested in a project than merely members of a project
Shameless plug:
You can still mint the Crypto College NFT here
A few spots left for 1.25e...

So it begs the question about education…
What does education look like with NFTs in it?
How can we move from “pay to learn” to “earn to learn”?
How can we make a classroom less stuffy and more like Axie Infinity?
How can we incentivize students through ownership?

What does a web3 version of Harvard, of a high school, of K-12 look like?
Now, I don’t think NFTs are perfect...
We need to figure out the environmental impact
We need to limit scams
We need to make it easier for folks to onboard
But, it’s hard to argue that there is a lot of creativity ahead of us in this space
And that’s pretty damn exciting

My point with this thread is this:
web3 is going to change how we interact with all forms of content; movies, games and education
And there isn't a playbook for what that looks like just yet
That's the fun part :)
