I am sincerely amazed at the response to these tweets.
I am simply narrating what I saw and how it's different from the version some very nice humans are peddling here.
I know that I am an eyesore for them as I am spoiling their well laid plans. But I only fear Baba Bhairav !!
I am Shubham Pandey. My house is at a distance of about 1.5km from Kashi Vishwanath Dham. For the last few days, I have been hearing again & again that the structures of Kashi are falling apart, its culture is being destroyed, and temples and their idols are being vandalized. 1/n
Being raised in Kashi, as much as there was anger in my mind about the destruction of the heritage of Kashi, the more eager and passionate I was to know the truth. 2/n
Therefore, being a student of law, I went out with my camera to find the truth about the destruction of the cultural heritage of Kashi. Now, in this thread that I am going to post, the truth will be revealed to you all through the lens of a citizen of Kashi. 3/n
In the past, the Gyanwapi Gate of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham, was something like this. Due to the narrow passage of the gate, thousands of pilgrims who used to come for darshan during Sawan and Shivratri had to form long queues, which affected the traffic. 4/n
When I reached Shri Kashi Vishwanath Gyanvapi Gate, I found this grand gate in place of the narrow one. The door of Kashi Vishwanath has been constructed with full planning. Vehicles can also enter through this gate in case of an emergency. 5/n
When I entered after obtaining permission to bring camera inside, the view was totally different. The construction work was in progress. I had never seen this part of temple before, because it was covered with houses & shops. The next pics are going to surprise you even more. 6/n
When I came inside, I was amazed to see how grandly the corridor of Baba Bholenath's temple in Kashi was being prepared. Here, tiles are not used anywhere, but the corridor is being prepared using red stone (the life expectancy of this stone is more than 200–500 years). 7/n
When I searched for the model of this corridor on the Internet, it looked something like this. For a moment, I was stunned to see this grand model, but also happy that my Kashi, the city of Baba Mahadev and his temple complex, was going to be ready in such a grand form. 8/n
The model was such that on one side there was Art Gallery, Handicraft Emporium & Ganga Viewing Gallery on the other, & Mandir Chowk in middle. Behind them were Mumukshu Bhawan & Passenger Facilitation Center. A Cultural Centre & Performance Space were being built near Ghat. 9/n
Other buildings in Vishwanath Corridor are being built under this model. The biggest thing was that all these were made of red stone. I lived in Banaras for 25 years, but for the 1st time I saw such a grand construction of temple, which I have placed before all of u to see. 10/n
For the convenience of all these devotees, tourists, and administrative personnel, necessary offices and buildings are being constructed. Now let's go ahead and pull the curtains to reveal the actual truth. 11/n
Before reaching the temple, I read such articles on the internet & heard news of temple & its idols being demolished. There was a lot of anger in my mind & an eagerness to know the truth, and with that same, I went out to find out the truth. I will tell you what I saw next. 12/n
I saw this scene from the temple chowk towards Manikarnika and Lalita Ghat. You must see that two temples are visible here, which are surrounded by bamboo. This happens only when the repair work on the temple is being done there. Well, let's go ahead and see how true it is. 13/n
In this video, we can clearly see the idols of Sankat Mochan Hanuman Ji and Phunta Ganesh Ji being worshipped properly. The temple had fallen into disrepair due to being very old, but the administration has decided to restore the idols properly into the temples. 14/n
After thoroughly observing, I felt that idols here had been kept very carefully, & special care has been taken to ensure that they don't incur any damage, & you can tell this truth yourself by looking at them. These idols will be installed again after construction of temple. 15/n
Let's go ahead & let me tell u one very interesting fact. This temple is known as Chandragupta Mahadev Temple. It is about 2500+ years old, meaning it is older than the Shivling established by Shri Ahilya Bai of Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Here, have a darshan of my Bhole Baba. 16/n
For the first time in my life, I was able to see these wonderful idols when I reached the corridor in search of truth today. Otherwise, due to this temple being covered inside the houses, even after growing up in Kashi, I had not been able to see them in 25 years till date. 17/n
You will be surprised to know that this temple is known as Man Dhateshwar Mahadev, and the entire temple has been recovered from inside a building. The old temple got damaged due to the vibrations of the machines. The worship of Baba is being done duly inside the temple. 18/n
This is Mann Dhateshwar Temple. After a little investigation, we found that this temple had been recovered from inside a building. Due to being dilapidated, temple can fall at any time, so the administration is doing the work of renovating the temple. You can see the bamboo. 19/n
Now let me take you to Manikarnika and Lalita Ghat. What is happening here should also come in front of you. People claim that this Ghat is completely broken, and that the link between the 84 Ghats has been severed, so that no one can reach this ghat via any other ghat. 20/n
You can clearly see Manikarnika Ghat beside it, and this is Lalita Ghat here. According to the model, the government is about to construct a jetty, a cultural center, and a performance space. 21/n
The administration stated that the link that connects Lalita Ghat to other ghats has been halted due to construction. When the ghat is ready, it will be opened again to the public. 22/n
When I reached home & saw some old pics on internet, the complete truth came out. The temples that are seen in all these pictures have come out from inside the houses and buildings. The administration of the temple is engaged in renovating them & worshipping the idols duly. 23/n
Whatever you may say, I am blessed to have visited all these temples today, and I hope you will be equally satisfied to know the truth. I am still surprised to see such idols that are more than 2500–3000 years old. 24/n
After witnessing the grand work of Kashi Corridor & finding out the truth, I am not aware of all of you, but I am very happy. My Baba's city is developing and we are getting the privilege of being a witness to it. There is no greater joy for the residents of Kashi than this. 25/n
I could bring you the truth about temple demolition in the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, I am grateful to Bholenath for this. I am letting this thread rest here. Stay connected here because soon I will present another series related to Kashi in front of you. Har Har Mahadev. 26/26
