Now we must know that Ulema have categorized Tawheed differently, some put in 2,3 and 4 categories, on contrary to most thinking it All came from MIAW or Ibn Taymiyyah رحمهما الله. Ulema before them like Abu Ja’far At-Tabari and ibn Abdul bar رحمهما الله also spoke on this.
People will tell you that the categorization of Tawheed is a Bidaah introduced by Wahhabis when in reality those who say this don’t know what is bidaah. This is no different from when Imam Ash-Shafii رحمه الله set out the principles and categorization of Fiqh…
… As he didn’t bring anything only that it was in accordance with the Qur’an and sunnah, same goes for the categorization of Tawheed, it was done so that it can be easier for people to understand the fundamentals of the deen.
Ibn al-Qayyim (رحمه الله) said:
There is nothing wrong with new concepts and new words, unless there is something bad about them.
Madaarij al-Saalikeen, 3/306
There is nothing wrong with new concepts and new words, unless there is something bad about them.
Madaarij al-Saalikeen, 3/306
الله is the Lord, Sovereign, Creator and Provider of all things, that He is the Giver of life and death, the One Who brings benefit and causes harm, the only One Who answers prayers, the One Who is in control of all things, and in Whose hand is all goodness.
Tawheed al Uluhiyyah was something rejected by quraysh and other mushrikeen, of the past and present, and when الله ﷻ would send his messengers, their initial messages was always to worship الله and reject their false Gods.
As Ahlu Sunnah, we affirm all names and attributes of Allah ﷻ whilst some innovators have gone ahead to deny some of the divine attributes while accepting others. They’ve dived into an innovation while trying to make sense of what can’t understood to us.
