In 1805 CE, in his commentary on geography of Ariake/Maharashtra, William Vincent calls Sevagee (Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaja) & his Mahrattas as:
"Restorers of Brahmanism (Hinduism) in India" and "Conquerors of the Muhammadan Powers"
