Improving credit access for young Indians is a positive proposal. However, at present the, "Yuva Shakti Card" as promised by TMC Goa through its website makes misrepresentations for two specific reasons. First, it gives an impression that it exists. How? 1/3
There is no mention in the graphics or language on the main display that it is a proposal. An actual card is shown with language under the "About section" in the present tense ("is a..."). It gives an impression it exists. Only contrary indication is a drop down on a click. 2/3
Second, the action flow is designed to prompt you to register. Which is the primary user interaction on the website. It gives an impression that the purpose of you submitting information **including mobile number and constituency** is to register for the card. 3/4
However, on a deeper study of the Privacy Policy it becomes clear this is for voter targeting and profiling (see screenshot). These are forms of dark patterns and voters deserve clear notices. Political parties need to implement better data ethics. 4/4 yuvashakticard.in
