Here's how I booked a meeting with Pura Vida, an 8/9 figure e-commerce brand
As a total beginner, with zero clients
Steal this:
Full disclaimer: This is the method I used to sign clients when I first started my email marketing agency
I had zero case studies or clients (the brand knew this)
I now have a team that handles a majority of this all for me
Before anything Google Pura Vida so you understand the kind of brand I'm talking about here lol
I will go over:
•Why it worked
•The exact framework
•How to approach brands with limited experience
1. A WTF Opener
You need to hook the reader in
This needs to be something that captures their attention, is super personalized, and makes them want to keep reading to find out more
I made sure it made them literally think WTF!
2. Power Positioning
Yes, you have zero credibility
But you need to alter your thinking & trick your subconscious into believing that you are someone that has something valuable to offer
And it’s your moral and ethical duty to get it into the hands of people that need help
3. Personality
I choose humor because humor diffuses any situation and makes people feel warm, and automatically lowers the recipient’s guard
If you're dry don't force it lol, find something else and relate to the prospect with personalization
4. Bait/Offer
You need to let them know that you have something for them and this is what sells the call
You are not selling your services here, all you’re doing is trying to book a call to talk
In my case, at the time it was a step-by-step blueprint to increase results
4. Bait/Offer (contd)
I provided certainty, clarity, and specificity.
This was the exact offer:
I gave 3 outcomes of what would happen after we get on a call (classic frank kern style):
•One was that they would love the plan & let me implement it
•They would want to do it themselves & let them know I’m actually ok with that
•Compensation for wasting their time
5. CTA
Tell them what you want them to do!
You wanna get them on a call nothing more nothing less
Sell the call, not your service
The biggest lesson I've learned building an agency is that tactics can only get you so far
It's about understanding the framework + the psychology
This goes for all sales calls, cold messages etc
Not understanding this is a recipe for disaster
