Why of late,Pongal falls on 15 of January every yr, as against d usual 14 of Jan in d earlier yrs?Knw a small Time calculation process.
Normally, MakarSankranti/Pongal Festival shud fall on 14Jan every yr. Most of us, since childhood, were observing it on 14Jan every yr. Isn't it?
2/In fact, fr 1935 onwards, till 2007, Pongal was falling on 14Jan only every year.(Prior to that, know that, fr 1862 to 1934, it was falling on 13/Jan every yr.) But fr 2008 onwards, Pongal has been falling on 15Jan every yr.Till the Yr 2080, it wl fall on 15/Jan only every year.
3/From 2081 onwards, it wl fall on 16th of Jan every yr for the next 72yrs, that is,till 2153.
Why this happens? As per the Indian Almanac Time calculation, Sun enters the Zodiac sign of MakaraRaasi (fr DhanurRaasi), 20 Mnts late every yr, as compared to the English time or the
4/World Time. Thus, once in 3yrs, Sun enters d MakarRaasi late by 1hr. That means, in evry cycle of 72yrs, Sun enters MakarRaasi late by 1day. Got it? (Also know tat Indian AlmanacTime is so accurate that our Pandits can accurately tell u today wen exactly Solar/Lunar eclipse
5/ will take place after 5000 years. That also means that Universe works strictly as per precision timings which is why we can confidently calculate today when exactly will eclipse occur after 5000 years.)
