NURSING IS FOR NOT TOO "SMART" PEOPLE
You've met a couple of individuals in the past that got disappointed when you tell them you're a Nurse?
Yes, that look on their faces. I've lost count of how many of such people I had met.

Oh, you're a Nurse?
Why not a doctor?
You're too smart to be a nurse!
To them, if you're "Too Smart", then you must be a doctor, nurses are not that Smart.
Yes, they're right!
Nursing is for "Not too smart people"

Infact, for you to gain admission into a nursing school and graduate, you need to be "Not too smart"
because you'll be taught so many things & you have to be able to know and demonstrate them just exactly how you're taught. 3/8
There's a special way you're taught to examine a Patient.
(Head-To- Toe ),not the other way round.
Special way to take Patient's history.
Special way for vital signs.
Special way to bed bath.
And a special way of cleaning Patient's wound to ensure it heals at the right Time!

You can't be "too smart" to fashion out or invent your own ways of doing these things.
You have to be "NOT TOO SMART" to follow RULES!
That is why we call them "PROCEDURES" you have to master it exactly the way you're taught and practice same, else you fail! 5/8
The Nursing exam is structured in a way that tests whether you've been able to master whatever you're taught step by step!
That's why you see us use PROCEDURE MANUALS.
You need to see us during our OSCE exams.
A typical OSCE will look like a well rehearsed choreography.6/8
You answer the questions according to how you've been taught and practiced.
You missed a step or put one before another, you fail.
So guys, the next time anyone tells you Nursing is for "Not too small people"
Don't argue with them.
Tell them they're right.

We're not "too smart" but intelligent.
Intelligent enough to provide therapeutic care to our patients!
Intelligent enough to nurse the sick to life!
Intelligent enough to risk our lives to safe theirs!
And intelligent enough to correct their doctors when they make mistakes!
