I’ve collected thousands of archival documents, maps and primary sources over the years studying the history of the Middle East. I’m sharing all of them at middleastonight.com This thread is a summary of the contents of the collection #HistoryTwitter
The collection includes 150+ rare Arabic, Ottoman and English language maps of Syria, Palestine, Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, the Middle East, Turkey, Europe, the Ottoman Empire and Azerbaijan, dates ranging from 1835-1973.
The collection includes the newspaper, Filastin (1911-1912); Ottoman charts from Mount Lebanon (1915-1916); 4 17th-19th century Arabic travelogs -al-Hamawi (d. 1608) al-Durra al-Mudi’a; al-Kurdi (d.1734) Tadhhib al-Atwar and al-Sa‘ud (c. 1840-1) Min Misr ila Islambul
The collection also includes 5 full-text Arabic history and geography books on Palestine, Gaza, Jerusalem & Lebanon published from 1904-1946 as well as a rich bibliographic index covering most Arabic book published in Palestine prior to 1946.
I'll be adding new sources to the collection every few weeks in 2022. You can add your email here middleastonight.com to get alerted when I upload new documents, maps and manuscripts.
