King Rama IX of Thailand, of the House of Chakri.
Traditionally considered by Thai people to be a God-King (Devaraja), the living incarnation of Lord Vishnu on earth.
The Thai Kings are the last monarchs to claim Godhood after the Emperor of Japan gave up his status as a God in the 1950s.
When King Rama IX died in 2016, Thailand declared a legal mourning period of one year. The prices of black cloth skyrocketed as everyone wore black clothes for an year.
