"Mary Slessor stopped the killing of twins in Nigeria", so they say. Yet, Mary Slessor never lived in Nigeria. She lived in Okoyong, an Efik community and neighbour, where twins were often abandoned. Disposing twins have been stopped in Calabar before her arrival.
