I was wondering why the President of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, is named Nayib, which is an unusual name in Latin America.
As it turns out, his laternal grandparents were Palestinian Christians, but his father embraced Islam and founded the first masjid in El Salvador.

Nayib was photographed praying salah in a masjid, which caused some controversy during the election. I also saw photographs of him making du'a with open hands in the Islamic style, but when asked about religion he is evasive and says he doesn't identify with any religion...

Nayib's brother Emerson is an imam and the leader of the Salvadorean Muslim community.
The only reason I have been hearing about Bukele is because of his...

Arabic names like Umar and Fatima are also still common in Latin America.
Learning about Bukele's background further confirmed my thinking that Latin America might be a good destination for hijra for Muslims in North America who are unable to emigrate to...

There is much more freedom for dawah and less surveillance and law enforcement manipulation of Muslim communities, and most Latin American countries are not actively involved in the war effort against Islam and the Muslims, or if they are...

Not far from El Salvador in the Mexican state of Chiapas thousands of people have entered Islam, and apparently at least one small village converted.

@AlMalibaare I don't think he even prays salah regularly either. I'm just speculating that it is an influence on him.
