This method helped me understand the thought-process of
- Gary Halbert
- David Ogilvy & more
After hand-copying the FIRST old school sales letter in 2020...
I've realized!
There's an easy way to do it.
~~~~ A Thread 🌽 ~~~~
This was the first ad I hand-copied.
The famous Rolls Royce Ad by David Ogilvy.
While writing I was trying to find what made this ad convert.
After copying the whole thing for 30 minutes...
I had NO clue why I did it.
So...
I turned ON my Big Turtian brain!!!
And had a Light Bulb moment 🤔💡
I thought 💭💭
How about I hand copy one 'paragraph' at a time.
And write down my thoughts about the paragraph's copy.
I'll have less data to work with.
Tried it the same day!
And...
It was THE BEST ad breakdown I've ever done!
Here's my breakdown with the Original Ad:
BLACK ink is the ad
BLUE ink is my thought about the copy
This method made hand-copying super fun
I gave myself a task to find the 'hidden' meanings behind the writer's psychology.
One after the other...
I was hand-copying sales letters and...
Breaking down the psychology of great copywriters.
Also... I've made sure to read the paragraph 2-3 times to clearly understand the message.
One more gem by Gary Halbert
Now...
The thing is...
You don't have to do this.
Lot of people don't copy sales letters and still close clients & make money.
But...
If you are here for the long-term game.
I would highly recommend doing this.
Copy at least 7-8 old sales letters... Believe me you'll learn a lot!
It will help you get YOUR OWN VOICE of writing.
If you guys have any questions...
Please do post them here & i'll answer.
Don't forget to hit that '❤️'
Love you all.
