If I had to start Amazon KDP today with $0 in my bank account, here's how I would do it...

I know many of you are looking for a way to make money online without any investments.
Amazon KDP is a side hustle you can get started with for completely free.
And when done right, you can make quite a lot money with it.
The goal of this thread is to give you some insights that will help you not only make more money but more importantly save more of your precious time.
If you're interested to make more money with less work, keep reading till the end...
If you're already familiar with KDP, you may have heard the advice:
"You need to publish a lot of books to make money with KDP"
However, I'm a firm believer that you don't need 100's of books to make meaningful money with KDP.
Even if you start for free.
If I started KDP today with $0, here's what I would do:
1) Don't take the easiest route
2) Value, value, value
3) Spot-on keyword research
4) Graphic Design & Copywriting
5) Build an Audience
6) Reinvest
Let's go through all of those one by one...
1) Don't Take The Easiest Route
When you get into KDP, publishing simple notebooks might sound like a great idea.
Those are fast and easy to create.
You can get 10's of the published a week.
More books = more chances to make money, right?
No.
If I started KDP today, I would stay far away from notebooks.
Why?
Those are so easy to create that 99% of new KDP publishers are creating them.
That means you have a lot of competition.
And the higher the competition, the less money you're most likely going to make.
Additionally, those notebooks are usually priced at something between $4.99 and $5.99.
That means you'll make about $1.40 per sale.
You'd have to make 100 sales in order to make $140.
And that will be hard in the beginning.
So, what would I do?
I would create books that are harder to create, ones that I can still create myself.
Those books have waaay less competition.
Less competition means easier sales.
Easier sales means more money.
Creating that type of books will take you more time per book than creating notebooks
But you'll have way better chances of sales and money with them.
That's why you'll most likely end up spending less of your time creating them than creating notebooks.
2) Value, value, value
Success with KDP, like with any business, requires that customers like your products.
That's why you need to focus on creating great books.
When you produce valuable products,
1 + 1 doesn't equal 2
That's when 1 + 1 equals 3 or more
Here's why...
When a customer really likes your book, they are likely to recommend it to their friends.
If their friend buys your book and loves it, they will most likely recommend it further and so on...
See what I mean?
One sale led to multiple sales... for free.
Additionally, with KDP, having great books leads to getting a ton of 5-star reviews which will lead to having a strong social proof.
Obviously, books with great reviews are more likely to be bought than books with bad reviews.
3) Spot-On Keyword Research
Keyword research is the most important part of the book creation process.
If you have a bad keyword, your book will most likely not be seen and it will just end up lost among the millions of books on Amazon.
What I mean with spot-on keyword research is that you look for keywords that have
- Low competition
- High-enough demand and
- People are really searching for them on Amazon
It's easier said than done.
You'll find those great keywords by...
- Using most of your work time doing keyword research
- Being honest with yourself
Those are the things most beginners lack.
4) Graphic Design & Copywriting
People judge a book by its cover.
When you create book covers yourself, you need some graphic design skills.
If someone says otherwise, they are lying.
After you've managed to create good enough cover, and really get people to click on your book, the next thing they'll see is your book description.
That's your chance to convert those views into sales.
Your book description is a sales copy.
It's nothing else.
That's why you need to learn copywriting.
By learning graphic design and copywriting, you'll be ahead of 95-99% of your competition.
Most people don't put time into learning those crafts even though they are a huge part of your success with KDP.
That's why you should.
5) Build An Audience
You need to start building your audience from day one.
What that means you have to build your email list and/or social media following.
When you sell books through KDP, you won't get any of your customers' information.
That's why you need to collect them yourself.
That's the only way to get back to them and promote your new releases for your readers for FREE.
6) Reinvest
Reinvesting most of your profits back into your business is crucial for your long term success.
That's when you get access to the compound effect.
Reinvest your money into ads, covers, ghostwriters, tools, whatever you need the most.
But make sure you don't spend any of your profits into stupid crap.
That won't help you grow.
Not reinvesting profits is the number one reason people become slaves of their business.
Remember:
Your goal is to be free, not a slave of your business.
If you don't put money back into your business, the only way to grow is by working more, and that won't be effective.

Use them as you like, but use them wisely.
