I've been smoking weed for over 10 years
Only after realising ONE thing I was able to quit
(you can use this for any habit)

I started smoking weed when I was only 13
The classic story: got introduced by friends & wanted to be cool
Doing something illegal gave me a thrill
Even worse..

I programmed myself by listening to music that glorified weed
My identity evolved around weed and that's where things got out of control
To make it clear:
My identity evolved around weed and that's where things got out of control
To make it clear:
I'm neither pro or against weed. It can have it's purposes but if you are not in control you have a problem.
I personally realized that weed was slowing me down. The amount I smoked didn’t contribute to the life I wanted
I wanted to quit.
But how?

But how?
First I tried to quit with willpower but it didn’t work
Then I tried it again with willpower and well..
It didn't work
It was only when I realised this one thing that quitting became easy...

This thing was my identity
I changed my identity and started to be brutally honest with myself
And suddenly I could see things clear

The first steps were to accept & acknowledge the downsides of my consumption, see how pathetic many potheads are and of stop the subconscious programming aka listening to weed-music.

Because we think the situation can be better when we add xyz
We think that we and our life are not good enough without xyz

No matter how cool the situation I always thought it would be more fun if I smoked a joint.
Funny thing was this was merely an imagination in my head.
I sticked to the false expectation of a perfect trip while in reality the experience was often dull and disappointing.

After meditating on my consumption I was able to see through it's empty nature and it became easy to quit
I could see through the false promises and see the real consequences instead
But most important...
I could see through the false promises and see the real consequences instead
But most important...
I realized that I am good enough in every situation.
Reality is good enough how it is.
It does not need to be improved.
Once you internalize this, the voices of temptation lose their power over you

This method is not unique to drug consumption. You can use it for any behavior you want to change. Take a raw and honest look at your behavior and what is causing it.
