Thread on how I quit my 9-5 by being a moderator in discords.
This thread isn't for everyone, it's a deep-dive into what I did to quit my 9-5.

Started in June when I joined @WalshWealthWWG and was an active member in the trading discord. WWG honestly is a Crypto Encyclopedia of a Discord. VERY smart people and VERY good traders. I helped out a lot and one day the owner @CryptoGodJohn promoted me to mod (unpaid at first)
I was active as a moderator and was in discord probably 10+hours a day because I worked from home. It got to the point that he reached out to me and asked to be on payroll starting December 1. Obviously I was ESTATIC because it was more than my 9-5.
I got liquidated a month before in November on my Futures trading account and transitioned to NFTs because it was fun and me and my dad @DigitalRoamad. We loved minting and trying to get rare NFTs. Later found out the TRUE bluechip NFTs are the ones with most utility.
In joining the NFT community I was told to look into this project named @_portals_, this upcoming SOL Metaverse project. Loved the idea and LOVED how they had a working demo even before mint. That was the KEY to me fanboying over them.
So after Portals minted, I asked if they needed help with moderating. I told them who I moderated for, told them I had experience, and 2weeks later they asked me if I was still looking to moderate for them.
HERE's where you turn a simple question into a job.
If you're looking to be a moderator make sure you have time. Make sure you're knowledgeable on the project you moderate for. And above all else, make sure ur professional and helpful.
I asked Chris if by chance Portals compensated their moderators for their time - he said Yes.
Anyone who is in the field of business knows that dedicating 10+hours a day to anything is a job and they should be okay with providing compensation. In this case, Chris and I got to negotiating and I was hired as a Portals mod.
I slowly built a name for myself within Portals because it was all anyone could talk about. Joining DAOs, such as SSC, also helped a lot because you be-friend people who might have bigger connections.
So now I'm working 2 moderating jobs and making much more than my 9-5.
A new project comes out called @CryptoStraps and they reached out to me because my dad mentioned me to them, and asked if I was looking to moderate for them. Again, I looked into the project and was like "WOW this project has a lot of utility that's good for SOL." YES!
So again, I let them know that I treat moderating like a job and am very dedicated to providing professional services, connections, helping with collaborations, etc and would require compensation for my time. A deal is negotiated and now I'm moderating my 3rd discord.
At this point, i'm loving life. 3 crypto jobs and I could literally quit my 9-5 and live happily. But I wanted to just grind more and find my 4th and last mod job to help pay for medical bills monthly. I just kept moderating the discords i'm in and grinding.
A week ago I finally secured my 4th moderating job with @GalacticGoonsio to help pay the medical bills. They reached out to me because they saw how I handled moderating in the Portals discord. NOTE: Once you're a moderator in one discord, that's all it takes to secure another one
Regarding Pay: If you work a 9-5 and it pays $2000 USD monthly, then you will need to make $625/weekly moderating to cover that. If you cannot, try and negotiate a little under $625 and work 2 moderating jobs.
Basically all the moderating jobs require dedication and time, knowledge, ability to be helpful and speak clearly, remaining professional even when some people may REALLY get under your skin, helping out with partnerships and collaborations, setting up meetings or spaces, etc.
REMEMBER! Do NOT let trolls get to you. Do NOT ban people for having an opinion. Know how to neutralize a situation if things start turning toxic, know the project you moderate for, and know where to direct people if they have specific questions.
I cannot thank @CryptoGodJohn for giving me the chance to moderate for @WalshWealthWWG and start my moderating journey to where I am now. All it took was 3months of moderating and I'm able to quit my 9-5. Know your worth and what you bring to the table and STAY ACTIVE and HELPFUL
Sidenote: I work on discord around 14-16hours a day. I love it. It's not even a job to me. I'm very happy making new friends, connections, building relationships because you never know who someone might became someday and you made need their help someday!
Any questions please feel free to DM me, I'll try and answer any!
