Exactly two years ago I was in Kyiv to give a talk to thousands of Ukrainian entrepreneurs. I was struck by the optimism I felt from them—after so many years of corruption and alienation from their government, they were finally sensing something new. 🧵 (1/7)
A beautiful future on the horizon. An emotion somewhat foreign to us in the US. And I believe part of the remarkable bravery they are demonstrating now stems from that brief taste of a beautiful future, so easily crushed by Russia, but which they won’t give up without a fight (2)
And I think some of that hope they have felt, and are now acting on, is rubbing off on so many of us, who had almost given up on this world. (3/7)
My friend Arthur who had organized the entrepreneur conference wrote to me from Kyiv—“Russian Federation attacks from every side, even worse than Nazi Germany. Their goal is to destroy the Ukrainian nation. They shoot and destroy the civil houses, kindergartens, schools... (4/7)
