I'm not lovin' it. @McDonalds is continuing to do business as normal in Russia, which means the corporate and sales taxes it pays there DIRECTLY support Putin's illegal and murderous war in Ukraine. #BoycottMcDonalds
This isn't a situation where reasonable people can differ. The invasion of Ukraine is unprovoked illegal Russian aggression and Western companies should not contribute to financing it even indirectly. And yes of course, oil & gas purchases from Russia by the West should stop too.
Putin denies the Russian people access to non-propaganda news sources, and it's fair to assume that many Russian people lack a true understanding of what's happening. The disappearance of ALL Western brands from their streets is one way of alerting them to the unfolding disaster.
"Unlike other chains McDonaldโ€™s owns the vast majority of its 847 restaurants in Russia. Russia accounts for 9 percent of the companyโ€™s total revenues and 3% of its operating income. McDonaldโ€™s has made no statement about the invasion." #BoycottMcDonalds

"This is not a time to sit on the fence. The world is likely to judge companies by what they do in such circumstances, and ethical judgement will be as important as complying with any government-led regulations and sanctions." #BoycottMcDonalds

"While a slew of companies have shut down operations in Russia, the world's largest fast-food chain has so far continued with business as usual. McDonald's is being urged to pull the plug on its 847 restaurants in Russia by New York state's pension fund.."
