Flipped through AR of Salasar Techno Engineering.
Weird catch: investment in Vodafone Idea (41,000 shares) is valued at Rs 10 crore, you can do the mathematics yourself.
Overall, mediocre profile. Kalpataru Power Transmission + JMC merger is more interesting in this sector.
This sector is expected to see better days, you can get a sense from concalls of similar companies. So the effort to pump makes sense (does not justify it, though).
Over the last couple of years, "investor relation" firms (you can see their logo on presentations) also help connect promoters to "PR" services, which is essentially getting an article published in leading media + grey services like drumming attention.
I don't think every promoter is trying to pump their stock - a lot of this (in my opinion) is also on the IR firm, who along with regular concalls/presentations/press releases also offers these services informally. IR firms don't really have much regulations.
There are several times i have written to companies on stupid pumping attempts by PR agencies - sometimes the promoter really isn't aware what's going on on some section of Twitter by these agencies! Occasionally.
Key takeaway: when companies hire an IR firm, many folks consider that as a good sign because they get more information to base decisions on. But also remember that the noise increases when an IR firm is hired.
