In Whole Universe Shakti was the only one, Mahadeva loved immensely, Shakti his inseparable Ardhāngini without whom, Shiva felt like "Not Shiva".

Why Wife Is Called As #Vamangi ?
In Whole Universe Shakti was the only one, Mahadeva loved immensely, Shakti his inseparable Ardhāngini without whom, Shiva felt like "Not Shiva".
Shakti to whom Shiva gave his left half which symbolizes the "Ardhanāreeswara" .
According to Shāshtras , the wife is considered as Vāmangi, i.e. the left half of her husband.

That is why in some books of "Hastrekhā Vigyāan" have been said that, through the left hand of men,it is possible to look at the position of wife, and to look out husbands position through wife's right hand,
At the time of Sindoordaan, taking meal, Dvaarāgman, religious ceremonies,in Sayankakshā, & during seeking Blessings wife should be on the husband's left side,
Despite being Vāmangi, Shāshtras says that, before tying Mangalsutrā, during Kanyādaan, Yagna Karmā, Nāmakaran, Annaprāsana, wife should be on the husband's right side.
This is so because, the rituals that are Sansaarik and female head deeds( महिला प्रधान ) at that time wife should sit on husband's left side as the wife is considered as the heart of her husband.
And the rituals that are Pārlokik and purush head deeds ( पुरुष प्रधान) , at that time should sit on husband's right side.
