Akbar named 'Illahabad' after the religion he founded (Din-i-Ilahi). But 5000 years before Akbar, this area was the habitat of Ila (Daughter of Manu). Ila left the throne for her brother Ikshvaku who stayed in Ayodhya and founded Solar Dynasty. Ila move to Pratisthanapura

This is where her son Pururavas founded Lunar Dynasty. One of their descendants Nahusa moved west towards Saraswati. One of his descendants was Yayati, after whose five sons, five tribes were named. Of these, Puru headed Central Paurava tribe. One of his progeny was Bharata

after whom India is still called Bharatvarsha. In his clan grew tradition of composing hymns, and these were collected in the Vedas. The Vedic seers rightly glorified their ancestress, Ila, who became a goddess and member of typical Goddess Triad- Ila, Bharati, Sarasvati

Illahabad city can retain it's name, but should get a new interpretation. We shall salute our Vedic Grandmother without whom, there would be no Dirghatmas to compose Vedas. Revive Ila's memory and continue the work she began- Vedic Civilization, no less.
